Still Think It Can’t Get Any Worse?!

This HAS to be rock bottom!!

Just when we think things can’t get any worse for the New York Mets, they find new and exciting ways to screw up. They took failure to a whole new level Wednesday afternoon.

That’s Some Little League Stuff Right There

Despite the Mets’ recent struggles, they seemed poised to turn things around. They shipped Matt Harvey out of town, hoping to boost the morale of the club (plus he sucks). And they had the fortune of playing the WORST team in MLB, the Cincinnati Reds. A series win was a certainty, right?! WRONG!! The Mets lost 2-out-of-3 to the last place Reds in the most epic way imaginable. 2-1 F/10.

Picture This: Brandon Nimmo led off the game, watching three straight fastballs go by for a three-pitch strikeout. Wilmer Flores followed with a strikeout of his own. Asdrubal Cabrera then hit a flare down the left field line that landed in play and bounced into the stands for a ground-rule double. Jay Bruce, the next batter, was promptly called out, ending the inning.

Jay Bruce

Wait, what?!

Called out for what????

THE METS BATTED OUT OF ORDER!!!!

Bruce was called out without stepping into the batter’s box. See, the original lineup card had Asdrubal Cabrera batting 2nd, and Wilmer Flores 3rd. Pretty simple. Home plate umpire, Gabe Morales, officially ruled it 2-unassisted, also striking Cabrera’s double from the record.

Rally over. Inning over. Game over.

mickey callaway

Tell me it doesn’t look like Mickey Callaway is being reprimanded by that umpire.

First year manager, Mickey Callaway, has repeatedly looked overwhelmed this season. He should crawl into a hole and stay there.

Or, maybe owners and general managers should rethink this whole hire inexperienced, sabermetric, yes-men thing….

On To The Next One

cavsceltics

The NBA’s Eastern Conference Finals will be a re-run from last year.

So will the NBA Finals.

Same show, different characters. Isaiah Thomas was pushed down an elevator shaft. Kyrie Irving switched to the dark side, but karma got him as he tried to hop the fence. Gordon Hayward joined the Green Jerks too, but only lasted five minutes before getting hit by a car. Instead, the Celtics have relied on a pile of young, hip actors, trying to play the part of hero in their first season. So far, so good. Ratings are up.

The problem though, for these young “punks”, they’re about to run into THE MAN. The lead actor everyone fears, but at the same time loves. You know him as the Denzel “I’m the motherbleepin’ man” Washington character. THAT MAN is LeBron James. And he’s about to teach these youngins a thing or two. “Old Man” LeBron still has a lot of tread on those tires, and is about to gun it into his eighth consecutive NBA Finals.

Series Prediction: LeBrons in six. Book it!!

Just When You Thought Your Tuesday Couldn’t Get Any Better….

Tuesday is my favorite day of the week.

Saturdays and Sundays are great, but Tuesdays never fail to turn that frown upside down. This past Tuesday, aka yesterday, provided a historic performance, a heated rivalry, and the dumbest trade ever. See, I told you Tuesdays are awesome!!

James Paxton Throws No-Hitter

james paxton

“Oh Canada, our home and native land…”

No, I’m not Canadian, but James Paxton is. Paxton, born in Ladner, British Columbia, made Canadian MLB history Tuesday night. He became the 1st Canadian born pitcher to throw a no-hitter — in Canada. Paxton’s Seattle Mariners kicked off a three-game series against the Toronto Blue Jays Tuesday night. The Mariners won 5-0.

Paxton cruised through the Blue Jays’ lineup, needing just 99 pitches to complete his no-hitter. He also hit 100 m.p.h. in the bottom of the ninth inning. Of course, as in virtually any no-hitter, it can’t be done without some help from friends. Mariners’ third baseman, Kyle Seager, made an outstanding diving play with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning to preserve Paxton’s no-hitter. Following the game, Paxton acknowledged, and appreciated, his teammates behind him:

“What a defense tonight. That was amazing. Those guys were making every play,” Paxton said.

Fat, I Mean, Matt Harvey Traded

giphy

I’m confused. I don’t understand why anyone would TRADE FOR Matt Harvey. I’d have understood signing him to a Minor League deal, assuming no risk, but trading a real-life human being for that pile of flab makes NO SENSE!! But hey, it’s the Cincinnati Reds. Who am I to second guess such a stellar organization?!

This trade is an absolute steal for the New York Mets. Highway robbery. The Mets will receive catcher, Devin Mesoraco, as well as cash in the trade. The Reds will also take on the entirety of Harvey’s $5,788,978 salary. WILD!! While Mesoraco’s career has been sidetracked due to injury, many, many injuries, at 29 years old there’s the sliiiightest chance he returns to the 25 home run, 80 r.b.i. days of 2014.

The funniest part: The Mets are playing the Reds, so Mesoraco literally walked from one dugout to the other, and joined his new team. He even pinch hit in the ninth inning, striking out in a 7-2 loss by the Mets.

Yankees Brought Winning Ways To Heated Rivalry

Remember when idiots booed Giancarlo Stanton???? I wonder what they did Tuesday night when he hit not one, but two home runs against the Boston Red Sox….

That 1st home run….Have you ever seen a baseball leave the field of play faster?!

Heading into a three-game series with the Red Sox, the red hot Yankees stood just one game behind their enemy. But after winning their 16th-out-of-17 (3-2), the Yankees are tied (25-10) with the Red Sox. Divisions aren’t won in May, but it would be nice to watch the Red Sox get swept!!

Luis Severino continued his dominance, striking out 11 in six strong innings. And Aaron Judge’s r.b.i. single in the bottom of the seventh inning turned out to be the winning run. Hooray beer!! The Yankees will look to continue their winning ways Wednesday night when Masahiro Tanaka takes the mound against Rick Porcello. Watch the Yankees beat down the Red Sox @ 7:00 P.M. EST on ESPN.

What was your favorite part of Tuesday?? Tell me in the comment section below.

Hey, IDIOT, Go Overreact To Something!!

Everything’s fine!! The sky is falling!!

It’s the best day ever!! The world is coming to an end!!

Some, live this reactionary life, riding the wave of EVERY moment. Some, would be REALLY DUMB!!

Remember when these collective group of morons thought the Cleveland Cavaliers wouldn’t represent the Eastern Conference??

Remember when they thought the Philadelphia 76ers could go to the NBA Finals??

Remember when they thought the New York Yankees were a disaster area, needing to be wiped off the face of the earth??

And remember when they were foolish enough to think the New York Mets could succeed, and stay healthy, and take back New York, and do anything remotely good, and make the playoffs??

Silly idiots….

LeBron, At The Buzzer!!

LeBron James continues to outdo himself, complimenting an already stellar career. His legacy, in his 15th season, is etched in stone. The only question is, how many times will it need to be upgraded or enhanced?? Saturday’s Game 3, 105-103 victory, over the Toronto Raptors didn’t hurt….

Nice double team Toronto!!

The LeBrons are now one game away from their 4th consecutive trip to the Eastern Conference Finals (LeBron’s 8th). I’m pretty sure he’ll handle his business. But I’m also sure there’s a moron running around telling people the LeBrons are about to blow a 3-0 series lead….

Boston Strong

Boston Celtics v Philadelphia 76ers - Game Three

It’s time for a recent history lesson:

The Boston Celtics, aka Danny Ainge, traded out of the 1st overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft. They swapped picks with the Philadelphia 76ers (3rd pick) and stored away extra picks for Winter. The 76ers selected Markelle Fultz with the 1st pick. The Celtics selected Jayson Tatum with the 3rd pick. Fultz is watching his 76ers get pummeled, from the bench (after missing nearly the entire season due to injury). Tatum, on the other hand, is leading the Celtics to the Eastern Conference Finals.

Well played Danny Ainge, well played.

With the Cavaliers “struggling” in the 1st round, the 76ers became the sexy pick in the Eastern Conference. Sexy isn’t always the way to go. Personally, I’m a fan of sweatpants. The 76ers’ time will come, especially if LeBron lands in Philly next season, but that time, is not now.

The Yankees Forgot How To Lose

The future is bright for the Yankees. So is the present. Gleyber Torres has been the Yankees’ #1 prospect since landing in the Bronx via the Aroldis Chapman trade (2016). After being called up last month, Torres has wasted little time playing the part of hero. Torres hit his 1st MLB home run on Friday, May 4th. And just two days later, hit his 1st walk-off home run, helping the Yankees win their 6th straight game (15 of 16).

If only Torres was really young, with tremendous upside….

We Are Who We Thought We Were

matt-harvey_1gz9r5jte5g1o18y11bcjqz4ao

You didn’t think the Mets were the Mets who started this season 11-1, did you?! I know you did, based on the amount of trash talk I, the Yankee fan, had to listen to throughout most of April. It’s oddly quiet now….

All we had to do was fast forward three weeks to turn a nine game winning streak into a six game losing streak. And to see Matt Harvey’s fat, lazy, ungrateful ass out the door. Even though delusional Mets’ fans didn’t want to release Harvey in fear he’d land on the Yankees, “figure it out”, and somehow destroy the Mets’ stellar reputation (HAHA!!), they needn’t worry. Harvey’s done, now and forever.

Like I said before the season, 81-and-81 would be a successful season for the Mets.

Do you pretend not to overreact to everything?? Or can you admit you’re a roller coaster of stupidity?? Defend yourself in the comment section below.

Knicks Select Their Next Victim

The search is over!!

The New York Knicks officially have another career to ruin. Since parting ways with Jeff Hornacek, on April 12th, the Knicks have conducted the wildest interview process known to man. But Thursday, the madness came to an end.

David Fizdale will be the next head coach of the New York Knicks.

David Fizdale’s coaching career began in 1998 at his alma mater, the University of San Diego. There, he was an assistant coach for four years before moving on to Fresno State. After calling Fresno State home for two years, Fizdale got his shot in the NBA. He worked as an assistant coach with the Golden State Warriors, Atlanta Hawks, and Miami Heat (with LeBron). That opportunity catapulted him to his 1st head coaching position, with the Memphis Grizzlies. Fizdale led the Grizzlies to the playoffs in his 1st season (2016) but was bounced in the 1st round. And just 19 games into the 2017 season, Grizzlies’ star, Marc Gasol, followed in the footsteps of the NBAs prima donna’s and had Fizdale fired. He’s been doing broadcast work for ESPN ever since and will be 44 at the start of the upcoming season.

And now, the ultimate challenge lay at his feet; turn the Knicks around. Turn the Knicks around could be the four scariest words in the English language. A concept that has spread fear internationally and has been passed down from generation to generation. It often sends grown men and women running for the hills. You laugh, but if you think I’m overstating the pressure, anxiety, and fear that comes with being the Knicks’ head coach, you’re sorely mistaken.

knicks coaching search

As you know, the list of coaching candidates was long, but distinguished….(let’s see if my movie buffs figure that one out):

David Fizdale, David Blatt, Mark Jackson, Mike Budenholzer, Mike Brown, Jay Larranaga, James Borrego, Mike Woodson, Jerry Stackhouse, Juwan Howard, and Kenny Smith.

Long, but perhaps not as distinguished as you’d think. The fact that Jerry Stackhouse, Juwan Howard, Mike Woodson, and Kenny Smith were interviewed is absurd. The rest are reasonable candidates, however, Fizdale is the right man for the job.

Fizdale has shown he can relate to players, as evidenced by his work with LeBron James, Dwayne Wade, and Chris Bosh. LeBron and Wade actually endorsed Fizdale when he was in consideration for the Grizzlies job.

The question is: Will James Dolan keep his greedy, stubby, little fingers off Fizdale’s leash, giving him ample time to turn this broken ship around??

Did the Knicks get this right?? Post your thoughts, feelings, and snarky remarks in the comment section below.

Not Your Typical Tuesday

Tuesday didn’t want to end.

With five extra inning/overtime games, 9th inning heroics, and a nearly 11:00 P.M. EST tip-off, Tuesday quickly became Wednesday….

LeBron Acting CRAZY!!

cavs raptors

Despite trailing by 14 points after the 1st quarter (on the road), LeBron James never gave up. Despite shooting just 1-for-8 from 3-point range, and 1-for-6 from the free throw line, LeBron didn’t put his head down.

Instead, he persevered. He also did the CRAZIEST THING EVER….

He relied on the band of misfits he calls teammates to drive the LeBrons to victory. Without the efforts of J.R. Smith, Kyle Korver, Jeff Green, and Tristan Thompson, the LeBrons would be staring a 1-0 deficit in the face. Instead, a 113-112 F/OT victory flipped home court advantage upside down.

J.R.: 20 points on 5-for-6 from 3-point range

Korver: 19 points on 5-for-12 from 3-point range

Green: 16 points on 4-for-4 from the field, and 7-for-8 from the free throw line

Thompson: 14 points and 12 rebounds (back-to-back double doubles)

It must have felt nice to not have to play 1-on-5 for 48 minutes — for once. Even crazier than imaginary teammates coming to life, is LeBron’s “bad nights” still turn into triple doubles (26 points, 11 rebounds, 13 assists, 2 blocks, and 1 steal).

It’s good to be King.

MLB’s Wild Night!!

Brantley-832x447

Not one, but two 9th inning home runs changed the landscape of Tuesday night.

First, down 6-2, down to their last strike, the Cleveland Indians’, Michael Brantley, took Keone Kela’s 0-2 breaking ball up-and-out for a game tying grand slam. That’s the stuff you dream about as an 11-year old in the backyard!! Despite the heroics, the Indians would lose 8-6 F/12.

There were three other extra inning games Tuesday (must have been a full moon).:

Marlins 2, Phillies 1 F/10

Royals 7, Red Sox 6 F/13

Blue Jays 7, Twins 4 F/10

The other 9th inning dinger made me jump off my couch (literally jump). Gary Sanchez broke open a 0-0 tie, with a 3-run home run against the Houston Astros:

While I love the home run, my favorite part of the video, BY FAR, is Astros’ closer, Ken Giles, punching himself in the face!! HAHA.

El Gary’s long blast came after Justin Verlander mowed down the Yankees, allowing just 3 hits, and striking out 14, in 8 innings. But hey, a win, is a win.

Mr. Half Court Shot Is Back!!

Stephen Curry hadn’t stepped foot on a basketball court in 39 days. He could have fooled me….

Stephen Curry is the best shooter the NBA has ever seen. His range is limitless, and his ability to create his own shot makes him one of the most dangerous players in the world. Curry finished with 28 points, 7 rebounds, 3 steals, and 2 assists in just 27 minutes. He led the game with an insane +26 while he was on the floor. Yes, he was the sole reason the Warriors took down the Pelicans 121-116.

The NBA is LUCKY to have him back!!

If You Don’t Enjoy Fun, And Sun, And Puppies (Go Away), But Seriously, This Article Is NOT For You

The New York Yankees forgot how to lose. LeBron James tried something new. And the Seattle Seahawks broke the mold. I’ve probably said this thousands of times, but sports, in the Springtime, is filled with never ending excitement. And this past weekend, was no different….

Yankees ALWAYS Carry A Broom (Just In Case)

cc 2

The Los Angeles Angels weren’t able to remind the Yankees what losing feels like. Despite their best effort, the Angels were smacked in the face with a broom this weekend. The Yankees swept the Angels, in Anaheim, for the first time since 2003. C.C. Sabathia turned back the clock, again, Sunday night. C.C. gave up just one run over 7 innings, lowering his e.r.a. to 1.71. Not bad for a 37 year old who remains 4,800 pounds overweight. The Yankees held on 2-1, behind a 4th inning moonshot by Gary Sanchez.

The Yankees will ride their nine game winning streak into Houston for a four-game set with the Astros. As optimistic as I am, I don’t see another sweep in the near future. This Yankee fan will take three-out-of-four though.

LeBron, In A 1st Round Game 7?!

lebron-james-first-round-series-vs-pacers-one-best-nba-history-696x522

Yes, the best NBA player in the world needed seven games to get past the Indiana Pacers. The 1st round, for LeBron James, is normally reserved for sweeping. Not this year. LeBron gave EVERYTHING he had in Game 7. Planning to play the entire game, LeBron’s body, midway through the 2nd half, intervened. Leg cramps forced LeBron to miss five minutes of action. In turn, the pile of mediocrity LeBron calls teammates was forced to contribute. Tristan Thompson turned back the clock, providing his 1st double-double since February 9th (15 points and 10 rebounds), and Kevin Love made a cameo appearance, scoring 14 points.

Side note: Remember when Kevin Love was a top-10 NBA player?! Seems like a lifetime ago….

LeBron posted 45 points, 9 rebounds, 7 assists, and 4 steals (just another day at the office). And the LeBrons now have the privilege of heading to Toronto to take on the #1 seed, Toronto Raptors. Game 1 is slated for Tuesday @ 8:00 P.M. EST on TNT.

Public Service Announcement: Allow this game to be a lesson to degenerate gamblers everywhere. If you bet on Cleveland to win (-5.5), you’ve probably broken something in your house, or skipped town. Victor Oladipo hit a MEANINGLESS three-pointer as time expired, bringing the score from 105-98, to 105-101.

A Dream Come True

griffin

Shaquem Griffin’s life’s work culminated in a phone call from Seattle Seahawks’ general manager, John Schneider.

“That was the phone call I was waiting my entire life,” Griffin said. “I literally broke down after that. I couldn’t breathe. I didn’t know how to talk, I mean, I was just lost for words.”

Griffin, a linebacker from Central Florida, was drafted 141st overall by the Seattle Seahawks (5th round). Griffin, who lost his left hand at the age of four due to a rare condition, became the 1st player with one hand, to be drafted in the NFL. He’ll also join the short list of siblings on the same team, as his brother, Shaquill, was drafted by the Seahawks in 2017.

Griffin is an inspiration for all. No matter the obstacle, you can succeed. No matter the adversity, you can fulfill your dreams. All it takes is a relentless work ethic and positive attitude. That, and approximately 8 million squats, pushups, deadlifts, burpees, wind sprints, tire flips, and pull-ups. You get the idea.

LeBron

It’s LeBron James’ world, we’re just livin’ in it.

With his entire team securely on his back, LeBron took control. He took control of Game 5. And he took control of this series. And, in the midst of his utter domination, he reminded the world we haven’t seen this level of play in 20 years. Not since the ghost, Michael Jordan, has such greatness graced our eyeballs with its presence.

In a crucial Game 5, LeBron found himself down seven points at halftime, on his own court. He must have had some of “Michael’s Secret Stuff” during Tyronn Lue’s pep talk (haha), for he flipped a switch on his way out of the locker room.

LeBron’s 3rd quarter: 15 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 assists

LeBron James accomplishes in one quarter what mere mortals accomplish in an entire game. Up eight points heading into the 4th quarter, LeBron nearly coughed up another lead. But, with the game tied at 95, words can’t do the final sequence justice….

(Watch until the end of the video).

The block. The buzzer beating game-winner. And a mini, “Gatorade Bucket” celebration. Fitting for a King. 98-95. 3-2 LeBron. Since you clicked on that box score, you realized LeBron didn’t miss a free throw. 15-for-15. That’s the real reason they won (it certainly wasn’t JR Smith going 0-for-8).

Now, LeBron lovers, please don’t jump down my throat….

That block, by the rules, is goaltending. When the ball hits the backboard first, it’s goaltending. I know, I know. I’m a hater. I don’t like LeBron James. I should get my eyes checked by my doctor. OR, we can collectively understand that superstars get those calls (every once in a while). Did MJ push Byron Russell to free himself for the game-winner (the purest jump shot of all-time) in Game 6 of the 1998 NBA Finals????

Of course he did!!!! But was it called?? NOPE. That’s this block. Sorry Victor Oladipo.

Like I said, it’s LeBron James’ world, we’re just livin’ in it.

Will LeBron close out this series, in Indiana, in Game 6?? Or, will it take Game 7 heroics to take down the Indiana Pacers?? Post your prediction in the comment section below.

LeBron James Does His Best Superman Impersonation

One day I’ll be gone.

We always think we have more time, and then, it’s up. Too depressing?

Michael Jordan dunks

We thought Kareem Abdul-Jabbar would play forever. Magic Johnson. Larry Bird. Michael Jordan. But their time came to an end.

LeBron James will not play forever. His game will decline. And he’ll retire. We have no idea when, but that sad day will come.

So, appreciate me while I’m here, for one day I’ll be gone.

LeBron James

LeBron-Hero-Comic-Book

Wednesday night, LeBron James did ‘Superman’ things. Hell, he did Batman, Superman, Iron Man, Hulk, Captain America, and Thor things. 13-0. Through 3 minutes and 31 seconds of the game, the score was LeBron James 13, Indiana Pacers 0. LeBron scored his team’s first 16 points, and finished with 20 points in the first quarter.

LeBron’s final stat-line: 46 points, 12 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2 steals

Despite LeBron’s Herculean performance, his Cavaliers won by just 3 points; 100-97. His supporting cast is NOT GOOD. Kevin Love is either hobbled or streaky. The Cavaliers’ trade deadline acquisitions, Jordan Clarkson, Rodney Hood, Larry Nance Jr., and George Hill are utter disappointments. And J.R. Smith, well, you know….

All season, I’ve proclaimed LeBron James and the Cavaliers would represent the Eastern Conference in the NBA Finals. While I still believe that, I’m less confident than I was  three months ago. This supporting cast isn’t 2007 Cavs bad, but it’s close.

There’s virtually no way to overstate LeBron’s greatness. He’s a transcendent talent who should be appreciated every step of the way. While he contributes to nearly 60% of his team’s total offense, uncertainty is natural.

MJ had Pippen. Magic had Kareem. Wilt had Oscar. And Kobe had Shaq.

Shaq-Salute

When LeBron won his titles, he had Wade, Bosh, and Kyrie. But who does he have now?!

LeBron can’t win an NBA Championship by himself. I mean, he’s only human….

How far can LeBron James take this Cavaliers team?? Post your prediction in the comment section below.

Losing Breeds Champions

Losing is a good thing.

Wait, that didn’t come out right. Losing, can be a good thing, if used for fuel to light a fire under your rear end. When facing adversity, some teams, or individuals, curl up (for some reason it’s always in a corner) into the fetal position while others stand up and fight. The question is: When you’re backed into a corner, who are you??

LeBron James

lebron james playoffs

Adversity in the first round of the playoffs and LeBron James haven’t often collided in the same sentence. LeBron’s loss Sunday was his first in game one, of round one, in his career. THAT’S INSANE!!

LeBron and the Cleveland Cavaliers will bounce back. There’s no doubt. By how much?? We’ll get there, relax.

The Cavaliers were 8-34 from three-point range in game one. That won’t happen again.

Kevin Love scored just nine points. That won’t happen again.

The Cavaliers scored 15 points or less in two quarters. That won’t happen again.

And LeBron James scored ZERO points in the first quarter (on one FG attempt). That won’t happen again.

Watch LeBron James do ‘Superman’ things  tonight @ 7:00 P.M. EST on TNT.

Score Prediction: Cavaliers 110, Pacers 97

New York Yankees

MLB: Spring Training-Detroit Tigers at New York Yankees

Watching the New York Yankees play baseball Tuesday evening, at 6:35 p.m.?!, was one of the most excruciating experiences of my life. No, I’m not overreacting. And no, I’m not panicking in April. But yes, I’m unbelievably disappointed in a 9-1 loss to the MIAMI MARLINS!!

Giancarlo Stanton finished yet another game 0-4 with 2 strikeouts, bringing his batting average to a stellar .167. Stanton’s been awful. Terrible. Horrid. But, he can’t get worse. Also, in MLB, established players always play to the back of their baseball card.

.240, 27 home runs, and 90 r.b.i. is on the way.

Tuesday’s disaster sent pain waves throughout Yankee Nation for a multitude of reasons:

1.) Heading into Monday, the Miami Marlins were tied with the 3rd worst record in baseball (4-12).

2.) The Yankees pummeled the Marlins 12-1 on Monday.

3.) The Yankees were no-hit through 4 1/3 innings by Jarlin Garcia, and finished with just 1 run on 4 hits (Garcia pitched 10 1/3 innings of consecutive no-hit baseball).

4.) Masahiro Tanaka was painstakingly bad. Tanaka has now given up 6 earned runs in consecutive starts.

Again, panic is not allowed in my house in April. If the Yankees are dealing with this many injuries, and continue playing this way, through June, we’ll panic together.

Until then, let’s hope the Yankees are prepared to fight their way out of a corner.

Yankee fans, are you panicking?? If so, calm down, then pour your heart out in the comment section below.

APRIL; Where The Four Major Sports Collide

April is an interesting month.

The NBA and NHL playoffs, a.k.a. the never-ending journeys, begin. MLB gets under way (sort of). And the NFL sprinkles breaking news on top of the sports world to stay relevant.

NBA Playoffs

If you already knew the outcome of a game, or series, would you still watch?? Well you already do, so don’t lie to me. Everyone knows the Golden State Warriors are going to win another NBA championship, yet we watch the NBA playoffs anyway.

Sunday’s round 1 drama was a good excuse to watch the meaningless. While the Milwaukee Bucks ultimately fell to the Boston Celtics 113-107 F/OT, no one will doubt their effort. Check out the shot that sent this game to overtime:

Wild!!

LeBron James, and the Cleveland Cavaliers, should be ashamed of themselves. They were outclassed by the Indiana Pacers on their home court Sunday afternoon. 98-80. No need to check your spectacles. The Cavaliers scored just 80 points, at home, in the playoffs. I do, however, feel bad for the Pacers. LeBron is going to do unspeakable things to them in Game 2. You’ll have to wait until WEDNESDAY NIGHT @ 7:00 P.M.!! Hence the never-ending part.

NHL Playoffs

las vegas

I don’t really like Pittsburgh. I don’t like Philadelphia. I really don’t like Boston. But Las Vegas I like. There’s a reason to enjoy the Las Vegas Golden Knights’ dominance over the Los Angeles Kings. Have your brooms handy?? Never has an NHL team gone from expansion team to Stanley Cup Champion in one year. Maybe, just maybe, this is the year. It would make me a hell of a lot happier than Sydney Crosby hoisting another trophy over his puny head.

MLB Season

MLB: Texas Rangers at Houston Astros

Jackie Robinson Day deserves a do-over. Only 10 out of a potential 16 games were played Sunday. The rest — rained/snowed out.

Despite actually losing a game (snapping a nine-game winning streak), the Mets got right back to their winning ways:

We must give a shout-out to Big Fat Bartolo Colon!! At the ripe old age of 44, Colon flirted with a perfect game Sunday night. Colon’s perfect game, no-hitter, and shutout were erased on consecutive batters. The first baserunner of the game was Carlos Correa (8th inning walk). Followed by a Josh Reddick double. Followed by a Yuli Gurriel sacrifice fly. The Rangers would hold on to win 3-1 F/10.

Who needs 98 m.p.h. when you have 86 m.p.h. with movement and location?!

Bye-Bye Dez

Dez-Bryant-Mad

One of the more overrated “superstars” in recent NFL history, Dez Bryant, is looking for work. In an era when wide receivers exceed 1,000 yards by accident, Dez hasn’t done so since 2014. And Friday afternoon, the Dallas Cowboys sent Dez packing. This wasn’t a financial move, as the Cowboys will save just $4 million of Dez’s $12.5 million salary this upcoming season. As an unbiased outsider, I enjoy this story. Dez is easy to dislike thanks to his overtly cocky attitude, underwhelming production, and Dallas Cowboys jersey.

What is your favorite part of April?? Tell me all about it in the comment section below.
