“I’m Living A Double Life!!” (DTS Podcast #98)

Madison Bumgarner isn’t who you think he is.

He’s ACTUALLY a rodeo roping CHAMPION!!

And, his name is REALLY Mason Saunders.

This HAS to rank as one of the dumbest things that has ever happened in the history of the world.

I hope the Diamondbacks void his contract before it even starts!!

“SHAME On You YANKEES!!!! (DTS Podcast – #69)

You might be giving the Yankees a pass today, but I’m certainly not!!

They should have beaten the Astros in the ALCS.

They should be playing in the World Series.

But, they are not.

Because they played like poop.

Period.

See ya!

“Injuries, Embarrassing, and Pathetic….That’s Life Right Now!!” (DTS Podcast – #68)

Reigning NFL MVP, Patrick Mahomes, dislocated his kneecap. If you were watching the play, kneecaps aren’t supposed to move like that.

The Yankees suck. They don’t swing the bat. They forgot how to hit. They can’t drive in any runners. And, they forgot HOW TO FIELD A BASEBALL!!

And finally, it’s a shame CC Sabathia’s hall of fame career is going to end that way.

“Rain Dances Are Real.” (DTS Podcast – #67)

Apparently, when I do rain dances, they work.

Who knew?!?!

Game 4 being postponed benefits the Yankees on many levels. Now, all they need is Gary Sanchez to pull his bat out of his a** and start hitting.

And one last time for good measure….

LeBron James, do us all a favor, and STOP TALKING!!!!

“It’s Good To Know The Only Thing LeBron Cares About Is Money….” (DTS Podcast – #66)

LeBron James has made himself perfectly clear, sort of, not really, well NOT AT ALL ACTUALLY!!

I wonder what it’s like to tell the world someone else is uneducated and then speak in unintelligible gibberish….

All those who said the Jaguars wouldn’t get Two 1st-Round picks for Jalen Ramsey look very silly right now.

The Yankees need to do a rain dance..in a hurry.

The Nationals will lose every bit of momentum they ever had and will lose in the World Series….in 5 games.

Have an awesome, rainy day!!!!

“Gotta Love That Irony.” (DaveTalksSports Podcast – Ep. #22)

Irony is everywhere.

The NFL needs/doesn’t need us….so Tyreek Hill plays.

ESPN has/doesn’t have a ‘No Politics Policy’….so Dan Le Batard has a job.

Aaron Boone was heard/not heard….so MLB suspended him.

And Matt Harvey, well, there’s no irony here, Matt Harvey just sucks at baseball….so he’s out of a job.

“My Rants Are Very Polite.” (DaveTalksSports Podcast – Ep. #21)

New York Yankees’ Manager, Aaron Boone, gave us the most polite, profanity-laced, rant in the history of sports.

The New York Mets still SUCK!!

It’s all about Sam Darnold. Don’t screw this up Adam Gase….I know where you live.

The Pudgy-Faced Assassin Struck GREEN!!

Patrick Reed won the Masters.

WHO the hell is Patrick Reed?!

The pudgy-faced assassin. I think we’ll call him that.

patrick reed

Patrick Reed is 27 years old (despite looking like he’s 12). He’s married with two children and resides in Texas. Entering the Masters, Reed was the 24th ranked golfer in the world. At -14, Reed took a 3-stroke lead into Sunday, fighting off the likes of Rory McIlroy (-11), Rickie Fowler (-9), and Jordan Spieth (-5).

Despite coming up short, Jordan Spieth’s round Sunday was the most impressive performance of the tournament. A final round 64 (-8) is other worldly.

Sunday at the Masters, usually reserved for names tumbling down the leaderboard, saw a record breaking 7 of the top-20 finishers post rounds of 67 or better. With virtually everyone around him charging up the leaderboard, Reed remained steady, posting a safe, conservative -1 (71). Needing a par at the last, Reed showed nerves of steel, hitting his drive right down the middle. He then hit the approach shot of his life, leaving 20-feet, and 2 putts, to win the Masters.

This was Reed’s 1st Major victory. And the Masters has now seen five consecutive 1st time winners. Life after Tiger. No no, I know Tiger is back. And played in this tournament. But he didn’t really play in this tournament….

stanton 3

And then, there was baseball.

The New York Yankees lost to the Baltimore Orioles in tragic fashion Sunday afternoon (8-7 F/12). After being spotted a 5-0 lead in the 1st inning, Yankees’ starter, Jordan Montgomery, decided he didn’t want it to be his day either. Montgomery failed to get out of the 5th inning, giving up 4 runs. Fast forward to the 12th inning….

After a walk and 2 consecutive singles, the Orioles grabbed an 8-7 lead in the top of the 12th inning. To the bottom of the 12th we go….

Austin Romine, who had the game of his life, led off the inning with a walk. With Tyler Wade (who’s really fast) and Gary Sanchez (who plays catcher) still on the bench, it’s inexplicable that Aaron Boone didn’t pinch run for Romine. Regardless, the Yankees loaded the bases on another walk and an error by Orioles’ closer, Brad Brach.

Yup, the Yankees had bases loaded, with no one out, and DID NOT SCORE!!!!

Because nothing says clutch like an Aaron Judge, 1-2-5 double-play, ground out. And as if that wasn’t bad enough, Giancarlo Stanton followed it up with his 2nd FIVE STRIKEOUT GAME of the season. Stanton was the only Yankee who didn’t record a hit Sunday going an impressive 0-7.

Stanton will be fine, but New York and Miami are two different animals, aren’t they????

What’s Better Than One 50 Home Run Hitter??

stanton

It’s a great day to be alive!!

But, more importantly, it’s a great day to be a Yankees’ fan!!

On Saturday, the New York Yankees and Miami Marlins agreed on a trade that would send Giancarlo Stanton to the Bronx. The Marlins received Starlin Castro and 2 prospects, Jorge Guzman and Jose Devers. The deal is pending a Stanton physical and signature. The Yankees will assume $265 million of the remaining $295 million left on his contract. This is significant, only for the Yankees’ wallet, as they’ll remain under the luxury tax threshold of $197 million next year (cutting their tax figure from 50% to 20%).

This deal comes on the heels of the Marlins shipping Dee Gordon to the Seattle Mariners. The Marlins’ new owner, Derek Jeter, is cutting costs in an effort to get payroll under $90 million. I wouldn’t get too comfy if I was Starlin Castro. Expect the Marlins to also get out from under the contracts of Marcell Ozuna and Christian Yelich in the near future. Keep your heads up Miami. While rebuilds aren’t fun to watch, I’d trust Derek Jeter with my baseball team.

This is a TREMENDOUS move by the Yankees. Fresh off the 2017 Executive of the Year Award, Brian Cashman is looking to add to his and the Yankees’ trophy case for years to come. There’s literally only 1 negative to this deal for the Yankees; Stanton is under contract for 10 more years. That’s enough negativity for 1 day.

Giancarlo Stanton, at 28, just won his 1st MVP Award. Check out his ridiculous stats here. Speaking of ridiculous, here’s the Yankees’ projected lineup for 2018:

1.) Brett Gardner

2.) Aaron Judge

3.) Giancarlo Stanton

4.) Gary Sanchez

5.) Greg Bird

6.) Didi Gregorius

7.) Aaron Hicks

8.) Chase Headley

9.) Ronald Torreyes (or me — it doesn’t matter who you put here)

Don’t feel like pitching to Judge because he’s hit 4 home runs in as many days?? No problem. Pitch around him to get to Stanton. Wait that’s a bad idea. Put 2 men on with nobody out to face Gary Sanchez?? Also, not the best of ideas.

It’s not even fair.

By no means am I saying this makes the Yankees World Series favorites. But, they’re closer than they were yesterday. If they acquire a decent starting pitcher, I’d imagine Vegas will reconsider.

This is the part when Yankees’ haters and bitter Mets’ fans make a lot of noise….

Scores of boos coupled with echoes of “Evil Empire” seem loud today, but will turn to white noise after the crack of Giancarlo Stanton’s bat in Yankee Stadium. All I have to say to the “haters” is: THIS WAS A TRADE!! It’s not the Yankees’ fault Stanton had a no-trade clause. It’s not the Yankees’ fault he said no to the San Francisco Giants and St. Louis Cardinals. Stanton wanted to be a Yankee, so Stanton is a Yankee. Period. End of story.

Who are the 2 happiest guys in New York right now?? Aaron Boone and Gary Sanchez. Boone, stepping into the most coveted position in all of sports, sans experience, is getting the best Christmas present anyone could ever hope for. And Gary Sanchez, already overshadowed by Aaron Judge, will slide even deeper into the shadows, and continue to hit home runs at a record setting pace.

Is it April yet????

What do you think of the Giancarlo Stanton trade?? Does this make the Yankees World Series favorites?? Tell me in the comment section below.

Yankees Fall In Line — Hire Aaron Boone As Next Manager

aaron-boone

There’s nothing worse than being ordinary.

Following others around, rather than thinking for yourself. You know, there used to be a time when the Yankees were trendsetters. They did what they wanted, when they wanted, how they wanted. Those days are gone….

Hiring Aaron Boone proves that. Yes, that Aaron Boone. On Friday night, the one-time Yankee hero was named Manager of the New York Yankees. See, MLB teams don’t want Managers who can think for themselves. They want robot, yes-men, who simply nod and smile as they hand the General Manager’s lineup card to the home plate umpire. A-A-Ron fits that description perfectly.

In today’s MLB, Managers must ‘toe the company line’. Instincts and gut feelings should be left where they’re born. Managers must be willing to work for 10 cents on the dollar and MUST NOT have experience. Allow me to repeat that:

MLB MANAGERS MUST HAVE ZERO PREVIOUS MANAGING EXPERIENCE!!!!

Don’t believe me?? Click here to see the list of MLB Managers (this list hasn’t been updated yet to account for Boone’s hiring). Boone will be the 6th manager hired, this year alone, despite having ZERO coaching experience. To the new-age, analytic baseball fan, this is hip, cool, and exciting. To the baseball purist (like myself), this produces vomit in the brain.

Analytics, and his willingness to implement them, is another reason Mr. Boone got the job:

“There’s a lot to consider, and there’s a lot of great information out there that is instilled into the game today. And it’s I think now more than ever more of a partnership from front office to manager. We are an extension of the front office and a part of the front office,” Boone added, “and how we gather information and get it in the hands of the players is a very important part of the job nowadays.”

George Steinbrenner is currently turning over in his grave….

Gone are the days of Billy Martin. Of Tommy Lasorda. Of Lou Piniella.

Here are the days of Alex Cora. Of Gabe Kapler. Of Aaron Boone.

I’ve loved the game of baseball for as long as I can remember. Never did I imagine a time when I’d grow sick of it. Unfortunately, that day, is rapidly approaching. I don’t know how many more times I can watch a manager pull a starting pitcher from the game after allowing just 1 hit through 60 pitches. Ohhhhhh, some made-up, analytics, computer program told you a pitcher’s success rate drops when they face a batting order for the 3rd time?!?! Well, why don’t we just have the computer come out to the mound and pitch the rest of the game then?!?!

RIDICULOUS!!

How about, the manager combines analytics, with his eyeballs???? Imagine a world, where analytics are ignored, and Dallas Braden throws a perfect game. Oh wait, that happened, on May 9th, 2010. In a world, where analytics are the only rule, that never happens….

What do you think of the Aaron Boone hiring?? Please tell me about it in the comment section below.
